NSHA School

NS Academy is designed for young athletes who seek an education that supports their unique schedule. NS Academy uses the latest technology to create an on-the-go learning environment. The program will be custom suited to each student athlete based on their education and scheduling needs. The Academy was designed by athletes and education professionals to benefit students who are pursuing dreams of NCAA and professional competition. High level athletics requires a high level of dedication and competition. Our academy allows for players to train, travel compete without sacrificing their education.The Academy has a in house and virtual support system that keeps students motivated and on track. All courses are operated through an online platform offering NCAA accredited classwork.

In partnering with Edmentum, NSHA allows athletes a floating academic schedule. Independent working and time management are skills students will develop. Students will have to meet a weekly quota of completed assignments to be eligible for weekend game play. NSHA offers on site support to guide students through course selections and offer assistance. Honors and AP classes are available.

Who enrolls students?   NSHA Program administrators enroll students into proper courses upon review of their transcript.  

Can parents check grades? Parents can check grades at anytime through their own log in.

What does a student’s course load look like? Students must be in a course for 12 weeks min. This is a requirement for all NCAA students for Fall and Spring enrollments.

Maximum courses allowed to take in 1 semester? 6 courses

Who makes sure they are adequate classes for their grade? NSHA Program administrators and NCAA school counselor.

If my child needs help in a certain class is the teacher available? Yes, by email and appointment. There are also live zooms available for each class.

How many courses will my child take per semester? 5-6, We will help guide you with the scheduling based on graduation needs.

How long will my child be enrolled in this online school?  They can go full time with us and graduate with Edm or they can just take part of their education with Edm and transfer back to their home school. We will just want to make sure the courses align.

How often can students check grades?  Teachers are responsible for responding to grades within 48 hours.

What is the add and drop grace period? 14 days.

Student college acceptance include? Ohio State, Xavier, Holy Cross, Furman, Norwich, Wheaton, Clark, University of Louisville, Tiffin, University of Carolina, University of Kentucky, University of Minnesota, Marist, St Michaels, Champlain College….and many more

Shorten weeks of semester? A student can finish a course within 12 weeks; 6 weeks shorter than the semester.

NCAA amount of courses needed? All must be NCAA approved! (16)
